Neela is reluctant to participate in her granddaughter’s history project. The past is too uncomfortable and her memories almost irrelevant in modern Canada. Left alone with her thoughts and a camera, she reflects on the burning of the Jaffna library, and the tragedy that forced her from Sri Lanka. For Neela the past is literally a foreign country.

Rasa Bytes are digital shorts inspired by the themes, content and narrative of Rasa’s stage plays. Via the web, these stand-alone films bring our work to new audiences nationwide, and allow our theatre audiences to deepen their experience and enjoyment.
